Microchips are a great way to identify your pet if they get lost. If your missing pet is brought into an animal shelter or veterinary clinic, scanning them for a microchip is the first step to returning them home. These devices are about the size of a grain of rice and are implanted under your pet's skin, usually between the shoulder blades. The implantation process is similar to a vaccination and while it might cause some discomfort, most pets tolerate it well. Since they can cause some discomfort, we offer microchipping during routine surgeries such as spays and neuters. Microchips are a great tool, but it is important to know that they do not offer GPS tracking. Remember to register your pet's microchip and keep your contact information up-to-date, especially if you move or change your phone number.
